My dear Somalis in the diaspora,
Today we are facing a critical issue that warrants our attention. As we have witnessed, our generation is being called upon to address the refugee crisis within Somalia's shores. These innocent displaced individuals are no strangers but rather Somalis fleeing the civil war and the unrest in Yemen. The goal here is to directly assist the people who are caught in the middle of all this turmoil. In order to alleviate the situation on the ground, we plan to start an initiative whereby we reach a goal of collecting $100,000 with the fundraiser called “Place the Displaced Somali Refugees”.
This is our time to exert our influence irrespective of our ideological and political differences. A humanitarian crisis looms and if we sit by idly then we risk falling back into the abyss of oblivion as a result of our in-activeness. Let us come together as ONE unit and for once help the voiceless.
Now is the time to act and accept the call! The goal is to raise $100,000 by amassing pledges from 5,000 folks in 21 days. Only mass movements can change policy and it is about time we recognize that we are the ones that will be setting our own fate and the direction we go, our generation is up on the clock, and I feel that this is our first consensus to challenge the status quo.
