VOTE LAURA MAYOR 4 A DAY-FEEDING ENGLEWOOD $1 AT A TIME!

Laura is running for Mayor 4 a Day as part of the 65th annual Pioneer Days Celebration! She will be raising money for St. David's Jubilee Center located in Englewood, Florida.

The Jubilee Center is a ministry of St. David's Episcopal Church, and has served the community continuously for over 15 years. The mission of the Jubilee Center is to feed the hungry and clothe the poor. Clients of the Jubilee Center include the working poor and families trying to make ends meet, disabled individuals, the elderly population and the unhoused. Besides offering a food pantry and free clothes closet, the Jubilee Center offers special programs throughout the year which include a monthly bike clinic, Summer Backpacks for Kids program, a Christmas Shoppe and food for holiday meals including Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter.

In Florida, 1 in 8 adults face hunger and 1 in 5 children. Yes, we live in paradise but Englewood is not immune from this problem. In fact, in Charlotte County, 13.8 % of the population faces food insecurity; in Sarasota County, 11.8%. Not surprisingly, the Jubilee Center has seen a significant increase in the number of client visits which totaled approximately 14,000 individuals IN 2023. Unfortunately, the monetary donations cannot keep up with the need for food.

For this reason, I am asking for your kind support for Mayor 4 a Day. 1 vote = 1 dollar with each dollar going right back into the community. Your donation will help us to continue to be a beacon of hope in our community,
