Hello everyone!
My name is Natalie Tran, and I’m currently a 2nd year undergraduate student at UC Berkeley majoring in Molecular and Cell Biology with an emphasis in Cell Biology, Development & Physiology. I am deeply passionate about health equity and aspire to pursue a career in medicine where I can support low-income and underserved communities.
I am honored to be part of Volunteers for Medical Outreach (VMO), a non-profit, student-led organization at UC Berkeley focused on providing accessible and sustainable medical care to underserved communities in Vietnam. Each summer, VMO collaborates with local nonprofits and healthcare professionals in Vietnam to provide free medical services, check ups, mobile clinics, and Hepatitis-B vaccination clinics. Throughout the year, we fundraisers to buy all of the supplies/medicine needed for these services and to pay for corrective surgeries for those in need of financial assistance.
I’m very grateful to announce that this upcoming summer, I will be joining this organization on their annual Vietnam trip to Hue. As a fully volunteer-run non-profit, VMO relies entirely on donations to fund medical supplies and outreach initiatives. If you are in a position to contribute, your support would be deeply appreciated. All donations directly support essential medical care, vaccinations, and life-changing procedures for the communities we serve.
For more information about Volunteers for Medical Outreach, please visit our website or watch our video from the 2024 trip!
Thank you so much for reading this post and supporting me as I prepare for this meaningful experience.
With gratitude,
Natalie Tran
