Hi, my name is Joe and I am lucky enough to be volunteering in Kenya this October on behalf of Allianz Partners. Allianz has partnered with a fantastic charity called Bungoma Outreach, based in Wexford, Ireland, that runs a yearly trip to Bungoma where they build schools, create child care initiatives and improve agricultural practices.

In June I travelled to Ireland to meet the other 30 volunteers going on the trip at a charity football game. We bonded over the anticipation of what will be a life-changing trip over pints of Guinness. They've worked hard to raise over £100,000 for the trip as it is funded entirely by personal and corporate donations.

Bungoma is a poor and dangerous part of Kenya. We will be staying in an enclosed area and working alongside an NGO. I am working in the team that are building a timber framed school, we only have a week to do it - better start building!
