Volunteering in Cambodia with Camps International July 2025

Hi, I'm Harry, currently 13, and I'm fundraising towards the cost of a trip to Cambodia in July 2025! Details of this amazing trip are below... I'm kicking off a year of fundraising tomorrow by climbing Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) and I have lots of fundraising ideas to try to keep the fund growing...watch this space!

I will be joining a Camps International expedition where we will work closely with rural Cambodian communities to support community development and environmental protection. I will also have the chance to learn, about Cambodia’s rich culture and turbulent history at the world famous Angkor Wat temples, S21 Prison and Killing Fields. As part of the trip we will also take on the challenge of a 5-day trek through the jungle.

The community projects that I'll be volunteering on will be chosen based on local needs and includes things like constructing water storage pots, improving infrastructure at a local school and refurbishing community buildings. The environmental projects include working on reforestation using native saplings and planting cash crops for the community that are both sustainable, and provide an income to the local people.

The whole four week expedition will be a big challenge for me and also an amazing opportunity to learn more about other cultures, volunteer on useful projects and live without my smart phone (for a few weeks at least!)
