Hi everyone
I’m excited to share that I’ll be volunteering with Asomdweefie, a community run nonprofit organization in Busua, Ghana that supports children with special needs. After speaking directly with the team, it was apparent that these amazing children urgently need a sensory room which is a calming safe space where they can escape when the world becomes overwhelming. Many of the children experience sensory overload and emotional distress, and right now, there is no dedicated space to help them regulate and escape the noise. A sensory room would provide a peaceful, safe environment for them to process, relax, and just be. This is not a luxury it’s a necessity. Asomdweefie relies entirely on community support and donations to keep its work going. For some time now, the team have been trying to create this much needed sensory room, but limited funds have made it impossible to cover the cost of building materials. The day centre already has materials to fill the room. Now we just need to raise the money to build it. That’s why I’m reaching out: to ask for your support in turning this vision into a reality for not only the children, but the amazing staff who go above and beyond for the children. Thank you so much for your support, your kindness, and for being part of something that truly matters. Thank you, Isla
