Hi, my name is Katie and I’m so excited to share that I’ve been accepted to travel to Tanzania in Africa and volunteer as a teacher for 2 weeks next June! I’ve always been passionate about doing the best I can as a teacher, and this really is a dream come true.

I’ll be solo travelling from Dublin to Africa, with guidance from the IVHQ volunteer company. This company highly encourages fundraising to support chosen participants.

So, to make this dream a reality, I’m fundraising at this stage to help with my travel expenses, which includes my volunteer registration, 2 flights each way and 2 weeks accommodation with 3 meals provided each day. I’d like to reassure you that I’ll also be contributing my own money to this trip, but considering the overall cost, any help would be greatly appreciated. For reference, my registration, flights and accommodation stands at €1,850.

I’ll also be planning more exciting fundraisers in Abbeyfeale next year, which will help me receive the required vaccinations, visas, and insurance, and to buy supplies for the children I’ll be working with such as school stationary, clothes, and food.

Every donation at this stage, no matter the size, will directly impact the lives of those I’ll be working with and will help me to bring education and hope to their lives.
