Volunteer & Adventure Nepal - This World Exists
I plan to embark on a volunteering journey to Nepal commencing on the 28th of December 2019. I will be a part of a group organised by the registered Charity: ThisWorldExists http://www.thisworldexists.org/
The itinerary of this trip involves a two-week trek through the Himalayas to arrive at either a small village called "Sorung Chhabise" or a community near Lumbini. There, we aim to aid in the construction of a local school, which will take approximately one week.
The adventure will be much like the 2017 trek they organised:

So what brought this on for me?
For a few years now, I have had this deep innate feeling in which I have wanted to contribute and get my hands dirty to help a community in need somewhere across the sea. This feeling stems from believing that I'm incredibly fortunate to live in Australia, and have had it "easy" compared to many across the globe.
This is something I've been putting off for a while now, but now I've decided to jump right in and commit.
Although there are many volunteer abroad charities out there, I settled on ThisWorldExists, as they are a small charity which are slowly growing which was originally formed in the Eastern Suburbs. I thought it would be good to support a smaller local charity than one of the bigger charities which have been around for some time.
This trip will be like nothing I have ever experienced before, and I would be incredibly grateful and appreciative for any contribution you can afford, no matter how small, to assist me to make even the slightest difference to a place in need.
The overall cost to be made to ThisWorldExists in AUD comes to $3,700. As two thirds of my trip is not related to the volunteer work I've determined my goal to be set at $1,700.
$700 of the total cost goes straight to the charity and I think $1,000 is the appropriate cost to be allocated to the volunteering.
My flights and any other expenses are not factored into the above, as I feel my goal is pretty lofty as it is.
Being an accountant I will also add that any contributions are non tax-deductible. I really hope this doesn't deter anyone!
Thankyou for any support you may offer :)
Sincerely,
Cam
