Need Someone To Talk To? Call Center Pac Biz Offers Extra Staff To Talk With During COVID-19

Quarantine driving you crazy? Are you stuck with nobody to talk to aside from endless zoom calls? Are you high risk and keeping yourself safe by staying inside? Maybe you've lost your job and are tired of another day of trying to call the unemployment office to register for benefits and just want someone to vent to?

We are here, Pac Biz  call center agents in the Philippines have also felt the effects and so to help give back, Pac Biz is offering its call center agents who have been temporarily suspended due to COVID-19 to answer calls from anyone who needs someone to talk to.

Co-founder and Phoenix native Eric Mulvin explains what inspired him to come up with the idea he calls Voice Impac and how he hopes this free service, like many others created by businesses because of the coronavirus, will not only help those in need who are on their own but the Pac Biz staff who are sharing their ear and time.

After reading about a US Senator and an NBA player who shared their phone number on Twitter, inviting anyone to call in that needs someone to talk to, Mulvin was inspired to do something. “I’ve been seeing breweries like OHSO in Phoenix make hand sanitizer, or a fabric store in Tucson making masks, and I wanted to find a way to give back too, plus I know they want to get a headset back on so our staff can give back and also get rewarded by helping others,” shared Mulvin.

To help cover some of the phone hotline costs as well as help generate funds to provide rice, food and financial support to its staff that have been impacted, we have set this GoFundMe up. We hope you can either take advantage of the phone line or contribute towards the GoFundMe.

In the event we exceed our goal, we will be supporting the following 3 local orphanages in Dumaguete who Pac Biz has worked with over the years and possibly open it up to more groups that need help:
Casa Miani - Boys Orphanage
Casa Cittadini - Girls Orphanage
Bata ng Calabnugan - Girls Orphanage

Fundraising details:
5,000 pesos per agent per month ($100/mo USD)
2,500 - 10 kg rice
2,500 - funds to suspended agents.

Total support needed for 50 staff for 2 months: $10,000
