بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
Assalamu Alaikum dear brothers and sisters,
I pray this Ramadan finds you in good health, strong iman, and surrounded by the mercy and blessings of Allah. My name is Ashwak Alabdi, a Yemeni residing in the UK, and as we enter the half way point of this sacred month, I am launching my annual Ramadan charity fundraiser for Yemen.
For the past seven years, I have been raising funds for Yemen, a country that continues to endure one of the world’s most severe and long-standing humanitarian crises. Year after year, despite global attention shifting elsewhere, the suffering in Yemen remains deeply rooted and ongoing.
Through the trusted hands of my uncle Ibrahim, who is on the ground in Yemen, I take full responsibility for ensuring that all donations reach those most in need. The funds are distributed directly within the local community to provide food, clean water, shelter, and medical support, and in coordination with the local mosque to assist families facing urgent needs such as medical bills, funeral expenses or extreme hardship.
What began as a small effort among close friends and family has grown steadily over the years. By the grace of Allah and through your generosity, we have consistently exceeded our goals. In 2025 alone, we raised £2,815, and in the years before that, over £2,000 annually. Every single donation no matter the size has made a real and tangible difference in people’s lives. I am truly grateful to each and every one of you and wish I could thank you all individually.
For Ramadan 2026, my aim is to match or exceed last year’s total, so that even more families can receive the support they desperately need. I will personally cover all platform fees to ensure 100% of your donation goes directly to those in need. A portion of the funds will also be set aside to support vulnerable families throughout the year, extending beyond Ramadan and Eid, when needs often remain unseen but just as urgent.
We are living in a time of immense global hardship. Across the world, we continue to witness war, displacement, famine, and injustice entire communities stripped of safety, dignity, and basic necessities. Our hearts ache for our brothers and sisters across the Ummah who are suffering under unimaginable conditions. While I wish I could help everyone in need, delivering aid safely and reliably is not always possible everywhere.
Yemen holds a deeply personal place in my heart, and this is where I can ensure your donations reach people directly, quickly, and with transparency. This focus does not come from forgetting others, but from wanting to act where impact is certain. I pray that one day we can expand our efforts further, but until then, we continue doing what we can sincerely and responsibly.
To those who are new to this cause, please know that even £1 can make a difference. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this message with your friends and family is also a powerful form of sadaqah.
As we give this Ramadan, let us remember the words of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ:
“Charity does not decrease wealth.” (Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2588)
May Allah place barakah in your wealth, accept your charity, and reward you with endless blessings in this life and the next. May He grant ease to the people of Yemen, relieve their suffering, and replace their hardship with comfort and hope.
Ameen.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your continued generosity, trust, and support.
