Help for Eva

I am starting this fund to help Eva with the costs to repair damages to her home. I have no idea what the cost will be.

My dear friend Eva who is 90 years old has been like a second mother to me since I was 17 years old. She is known for her loving, kind, and generous nature, Eva has touched the lives of many through her work and personal endeavors. For over 45 years, she owned and ran Mamacitas, a beloved establishment that became a cornerstone of our community. Her dedication to fostering cultural exchange and understanding, especially among children, is truly inspiring.

At 5:00 a.m. this morning, the quiet was shattered — five armored SWAT vehicles arrived like a storm, followed by a phalanx of roughly 100 officers from ICE, SWAT and the FBI. Eva, ninety years old and steadied by a walker after two recent back surgeries, watched in disbelief as flash grenades popped, smoke bombs rolled across the yard, floodlights washed her home in harsh white and a sound cannon boomed like distant gunfire. Ordered to come out with her hands high, she stood frozen — she can’t walk without that walker. They brandished a search warrant covering her house, the trailer she rents out for extra income, and every building on the property. Her grandson — who lives in Worden and had only been recorded visiting his grandmother — was taken into custody. When an officer asked Eva why her grandson had come over, her answer was simple and heartbreaking: “Because I am 90 years old and he wants to see me.”

Agents served a search warrant covering her house, the trailer she rents for extra income, and every building on her property. Her grandson—who lives in Worden—had already been arrested, the search warrant was issued because a detective followed him while he was visiting his grandmother at her home. When an agent asked why her grandson had come by, Eva replied, “I’m ninety years old; he just wanted to see me.” Her grandson owned a camper bus parked behind the property. The raid left Eva terrified, disoriented, and confused, and because she is Hispanic the agents called ICE.

She was in a nightgown and her underwear, and they wouldn’t let her go back inside to get dressed or to get her dogs. Eva, in a very stern voice, told the FBI agents, that she was going back into her house to get dressed and to get her dogs. If he didn’t like it, then he could handcuff her, arrest her, or shoot her, but she was getting dressed before she left. His reply, “quit wagging that finger in my face or I will shoot you!”

Eva asked, what am I, the Grandma Godmother? They did ask her if she knew anyone in the Mexican Cartel. She laughed because she has lived in Montana almost her entire life!

These pictures are of her property and her home, they destroyed it and left it all for a 90-year-old woman to clean up and put back together. In her barn, they ripped the insulation of the ceiling and walls. Ripped the ac off the wall. She had a squirrel cage with a fan in it and they asked her if it was an IED! Come on now! They were mean, rude and so disrespectful.

Dumped out bins of her belongings that were stored in the barn, pulled an antique piano outside and left it. Left a lot of stuff outside. Dumped the garbage bins and ripped open the bags, leaving the garbage all over the ground. Destroyed the bus.

When it was all over, they said, oh sorry we didn’t find anything. They left all of that mess for a 90-year-old woman to clean up!
