Daddy's Little Girl

My beautiful daughter has just turned 9. Since the day she was born she has been my only priority. She has lived with me since her mother and I had split up in 2012. Since then I have registered her in school from kindergarten up until 3rd grade. I have kept her warm, fed and happy. Now, after 4 years of her living with me her mother has withdrawn her from the school by me and plans to take her with her to live in Lombard. She loves this community, her school friends, her choir group. She enjoys the library and the local eatery. The problem was that even though she lived with me prior to the actual divorce, on paper, she is to live with her mother and I am to have every other weekend with her. Times are tough and when my daughter found out that she would have to move she began to cry. The only thing I could tell her was that daddy would do whatever he could to stop it from happening. This is where it gets hard. I do not have the finances for a lawyer to battle this. I have seen the average costs for this type of case range from 3,000 to 6,000 dollars. I am asking for help, just enough to retain a lawyer and have them start the process. With the money I can begin fighting for my little girl, and continue to work in order to take care of what needs to be done. All I want for Christmas is what makes my baby happy and that is to keep her growing and learning with the one person who has without a doubt been there for her. Me. I always think about when my little girl was very sick one night. She was maybe only 4 or 5. She had such a high fever and just wanted to be held. I "interrupted" her mother's sleep by calling in the middle of the night to get her insurance card and take her to the hospital. I remember walking up to the door and being handed the card. I spent the night in an emergency room holding my baby on my chest and comforting her. That was the moment I realized there was only one person who could make sure she would always be safe and that would be my job.
