Viviana's mom fight against GuillainBarreSyndrome

Hi, my name is Viviana and I am fundraising for my mom Gilma.

About a month and a half ago, my mom woke up paralyzed from the neck down, and soon after that, she was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre Syndrome. We had never heard of it before, but then we learned that her immune system attacked her nerve cells thus preventing communication from the brain to the limbs and causing full-body paralysis. After being treated at the hospital for about two weeks, we had to move her into a geriatric home where she could get the care that she needed to continue recovering.

The funds raised on this campaign will be strictly used to pay for the monthly fee at the Geriatric Home where she is staying in Bucaramanga, Colombia. The stay at this facility costs about $400-$500 USD per month depending on the currency exchange of the day. The target fundraising goal will cover this fee for about 6-7 months which we hope will be enough time for her to recover and be able to go home.
