The Wrangler Program at Camp Tahquitz (BSA LBAC)
Donation protected
Every boy, and adult, has at one time in their lives imagined they wanted to be a Cowboy. This new Wrangler Program plays right into that desire by providing a full immersion, High Adventure, program that has as its humble beginnings the first Wrangler Program I began at Tahquitz in 1992 but is now elevated to a greater riding experience opportunity.
At this summer’s summer camp each rider has his own horse assigned to him, and with a helper (two assigned "owners" share a horse), responsible for the care and feeding of that horse, as well as learning how to ride it, for the full week. For anyone that has ever wanted to learn to ride, or enhance their horse-riding experience to Expert level, this program is for them.
With the stables located at the same Middle Meadow, Scouts and registered adults are welcome to enroll in this week long experience that will include at least 9 hours of riding by weeks end and promises to provide a full understanding of Horsemanship excellence towards earning the merit badge of the same name.
Please donate to support the continuation of this program and the ability for the Scouts to build on their Horsemanship knowledge at next years camp.
