Village in Tanzania for Water for Onion Crop.

Im Brett Orchard from Tasmania Australia.

I have had a long term friend of over 25 years iin Africa. We often talk on What’s App and are like brothers. Gerald started out doing social work training then using those skills he became a Catholic priest. His congregation in Tanzania is very poor and they get by the best they can with little. My island Tasmania is similar in spelling but we are a very long distance apart. I have supported him personally in the past to get through his studies.,He now is a very kind and caring man for his congregation they are very lucky to have him. I have not been very successful in the past raising funds for projects there so I’m now only doing small amount Go Fund Me projects to see if we from the west can help them practically. I Gerald is pictured twice in the photos. Tanzania have been in drought for many years and this last rainy season whilst they had some good falls it did not replenish the groundwater to the extent it usually does. Gerald has located another pond further from their current well but it will need a pump and many metres of pipe to bring this water to his crop of onions which he sells at the right time to help fund his work and provide community food for his people. With $500 it will help buy an electric pump and the piping required. Ultimately a solar system would be the best but that would cost $3,000.

Can you help even with a small amount. All funds raised will go directly for this work. One day I hope to visit Africa and see him and his congregation but financially it is an impossible thing for me at the moment. Gerald as a close friend supports me in the way he can give freely and that is by daily prayer and even his joyful (in the midst of their poverty) congregation pray for me and my family daily. I am so touched by this

I hate asking for things as life is difficult for us in the west too but if we can help reach this small goal we will help many.
