Vietnamese Deportation Project

I am the founder of Asians & Pacific Islander ReEntry of Orange County group (APIROC). APIROC does not have a legal entity and operates mainly out of pocket. APIROC vision is to provide basis reentry services to the API incarcerated populations, families of the incarcerated, and services to victim of crimes. Due to the recent pressure on deportation, APIROC dedicated most of its efforts on immigration issues. Including, monitor, track, and assist API individuals and families on deportation matters.
At this time, the Vietnamese community is being targeted and vulnerable to deportation. In March 2017, ICE rounded up and deported Vietnamese; the community went crazy! Around October 2017, ICE again rounded up, both Vietnamese and Cambodian and process for deportation. The community is in fear! God knows when the next round up will take place. The community is completely unaware about the seriousness of this issue.
Another problem: English barrier makes it a serious matter affecting the Viet community; they are less informed about current events. Majority of Vietnamese, including the elders, are not English fluent. Currently 80% of the efforts is in English. This means a majority of our community does not get to fully understand what is happening. Their access to news and current events are dependent on Viet language. They are without direct access to information, which could potentially jeopardize their legal status in America, such as the recent deportation attack.
While I have been actively working on Anti-Deportation of Vietnamese. I failed to consider that sharing information in Vietnamese is very crucial! To be more effective in raising awareness and educating the Viet community, a "meet them at their level" outreach effort is necessary. I planned to dedicate a Vietnamese language outreach efforts.
APIROC is without financial support. The work will require a full time commitment and I need financial help to focus on this project. I expect a timeline of three (3) months works to be able to complete the project and begin outreach efforts. I will have to sacrifice my day job and suffer loss of income. Any help is highly appreciated to help me work on this project. Please consider donate. Thank you.
