Vienna was born with congenital meloncystic nevus which translates to a large mole/birthmark in between her eyes/forehead, which will grow as her head grows.
This is basically just an extra build up of benign pigment cells in one area.
Vienna has been refused treatment by the NHS meaning we have chosen to go to The Portland Hospital in London to get this surgically removed.
As this doesn’t currently affect Vienna’s health physically it will have an unimaginable affect psychologically on her mental wellbeing.
Vienna will have to undergo an MRI as there could be a very small risk of there been more deeply seated melanocytic lesions in melanocytic naevi of this size overlying the central nervous system. The MRI alone costing £3,374
Vienna will have to undergo 3 serial excision surgeries to remove this starting around the age of 10 months old.
She will then have to repeat the procedure 6 months later and the 3rd one in a further 6 months.
For all the surgical procedures it will cost £11,258
Vienna is a happy 1 month old baby who is loved unconditionally. We wouldn’t change her but it is important to get this removed before she starts school.
We will be competing in the Total Warrior Half on July 9th 2021 which is a 6k run including 15 challenging obstacles, which we are currently training for so we can help raise as much money and awareness for Vienna and her condition.
Any money raised above the amount for Vienna's treatment will be donated to a children's charity.
We would be hugely thankful for any donations that are going to change our daughters life.
