After 5 years of being unable to run due to recurring back issues I have decided to take on the ultimate challenge of running a marathon. This may not seem like a large endeavour compared to previous challenges but having not run in that period up until this January this year, it is going to be pretty tough ask. With more injuries picked up in training it is going to be a huge feat to cross the finishing line and a massive milestone for me on the road back to full fitness. I have also convinced my cousin Hilary to come along for the ride in her first marathon which i have now doubt she will take in her stride.

In doing so I'm raising money in aid of Care To Grow, a charity that is dedicated to training trusted adult volunteers and mentors to support children's emotional literacy in schools in deprived areas of the UK. Their mission is to ensure that every child and young person has their basic emotional needs met, which is crucial for their ability to learn, develop, and thrive.
