When NTEU Branches Lead, We All Win

Higher education workers in Victoria are facing a turning point.

Across our universities, workloads are rising, insecure work is spreading, and the gap between the value we create and the conditions we work under keeps growing. The answer will not come from the top down. It will come from organised members in strong branches who know their workplaces and are prepared to act together.

Our campaign for NTEU Victorian Division Secretary, Division Assistant Secretary and the leadership of the NTEU Victorian Division Council is about building exactly that kind of union.

We believe the strength of our union comes from the branches. When members are organised at the workplace level, when branches lead strategy, and when the Division backs them with the resources they need, we can win life-changing improvements to pay, workload and job security at our workplaces.

This campaign is about putting that vision into practice.

We want a union where branches set priorities, members shape campaigns, and leadership focuses on building the power needed to win. That means investing in organising, supporting branch leaders, and coordinating campaigns across the state so that higher education workers stand together.

Running a democratic, statewide campaign takes resources. Funds raised here will help cover essential campaign costs such as:

• materials and communications

• travel to meet members across Victoria

• events and organising conversations with members

• digital tools to reach workers across the sector
