Victoria’s fundraising for cancer research

Following my diagnosis with breast cancer in January 2021, and subsequent treatment (chemo, double mastectomy and reconstruction, hair replacement, lymph node removal and potentially radiotherapy), I have decided to try and raise some money for worldwide cancer research (a local Edinburgh-based charity).

 

My treatment hasn’t been easy - it’s been the hardest thing I’ve done both mentally and physically. Although I am still in active treatment I have decided to set myself small challenges to get me through the last few stages, ramping up to one big challenge next year.

 

In just under 10 days I will be running a 10 km, exactly 3 weeks after my surgery. In October I will be running in a dualathon, and next year my aim is a half ironman. I will be adding more events to my calendar as/when they come up.

 

The research that has taken place over the years and the subsequent treatment options are the reason I am where I am today! So please join me in raising some money to continue this vital research.
