Hi, my name is Victoria Segovia. I am 12 years old, born on September 11, 2012, alongside my twin sister. From the very first day, I have faced significant challenges. We were born prematurely, and my lungs did not fully develop. As a result, I live with hypertonia and hemiparesis on the left side of my body. Throughout my life, I have learned what it means to be strong. From a very young age, I have given my all in therapies and treatments to adapt to my challenges.

When I was five years old, I underwent surgery to lengthen the muscles and tendons in my legs. However, as I’ve grown, my condition has worsened. My legs have rotated, one has shortened, and this has caused severe issues with my spine and hips. Walking, running, jumping, and even completing everyday tasks have become painful challenges filled with obstacles.

Today, my future depends on an urgent surgery to correct the rotation of my legs and lengthen my muscles. This intervention is critical and must be done before I finish growing. Doctors have assured me that with this surgery, I will have a better, pain-free life and the chance to walk, play, and participate in activities like any other girl my age.

The total cost of the surgery is $50,000: $27,000 for clinical expenses, $7,000 to cover the plates and screws needed and $16,000 for physical therapy.
