Hi - I’m Victoria, a 47 year old mum of 2 who has signed up to a crazy challenge to raise money for a charity called The Captains Trust.
What is the challenge ????
Firstly - it’s London Baby….im running the iconic London Marathon on April 26th.
but can you believe that London is just the warmup? Because then it gets a little bit crazy…
Over seven consecutive days, from November 15th-21st 2026, I will complete 7 full marathons, across 7 continents, starting in Antarctica and finishing in North America.
Yes 7 marathons across 7 continents in 7 days!!!
The Great World Race™ is one of the most ambitious endurance challenges in the world, offering minimal recovery time, extreme climates and conditions and is a real test of physical and mental endurance.
The Captains Trust was created over 10 years ago by my husband when his late wife Lisa was diagnosed with cancer. Since Lisa’s passing, my husband has continued his philanthropic work via The Captains Trust focusing primarily on supporting local people facing cancer
and chronic illness. I have been passionate about charity work and community fundraising for many years already, particularly for cancer charities such as Clatterbridge Cancer Charity.
Unfortunately, my husband was diagnosed with stage 1V metastatic melanoma approximately 8 months ago and we are now using the services of the organisations which we have previously supported through our charity.
Neil, my husband is undergoing groundbreaking immunotherapy treatment and I am so grateful for all of treatment we receive at Clatterbridge.
I want to raise as much money as possible so they can continue to support research and save lives.
This race is about resilience, hope and turning one of the hardest chapters in my life into something positive. I am not a runner, I only started running last year when neil was first diagnosed - to raise money for clatterbridge by running 5k everyday for 100 days and I raised an amazing £26,000. But I want to do more - one dose of immunotherapy treatment costs more than what I raised in 100 days!
Outside of the physical and mental challenges of The Great World Race, there are huge costs for competing, training and getting the kit needed to race. I am looking for sponsors who will help to support me on this journey, while aligning themselves with an incredibly good cause.
Can you help by sponsoring me?
Every donation counts and I THANKYOU for every penny that you pledge
This is a chance to be a part of something truly great - I am running all of my training runs and all 7 marathons with an attitude of gratitude.
I am blessed with the opportunity to run when so many can’t.
I would be so honoured for you to come on this journey with me and support in any way that you can,
love and light
Victoria
