HEALTHY AGEING WITH DIGNITY AND HOPE! The Victoria Gals Association provides financial assistance to run a Day Centre for the Elderly in Limbe, Cameroon. The Centre provides weekly social activities for members, visits to housebound elderly, support to prevent social isolation and promote togetherness through worship, praise and sharing meals.   Unfortunately on the 18th of October 2020 the Centre was burgled, causing damage to the roof and fabric of the building. Even pots and plates were stolen!! This has affected the small community and disrupted the activities of the Centre, especially the Christmas events of Love and Cheer, which was a lifeline to many vulnerable and elderly people. So, we the Victoria Gals Association in the Diaspora want to continue to support our elderly, by encouraging social interaction, which is vital for the wellbeing of the elderly. We are also aiming to help the Centre to become more self-reliant. We are therefore appealing to all our friends and well wishers to support us in firstly repairing the roof and secondly, replacing the stolen and damaged items. The aim is for the Centre to be back in operation in the New Year. Your generosity will make a difference to our community, as we continue to provide much needed care for our elderly.   It is estimated that the amount required for the repairs and reinstatement is £5,000.
