Donate to help these 16 beautiful women fight cancer

Hi, my name is Victoria Wemimo Adebowale, and I’m fundraising to assist 16 women in Nigeria who are battling cancer. These women urgently need our help to afford their treatment, totalling €16,350.

As a cancer survivor myself, I have experienced firsthand the financial and emotional stress this dreadful condition places on patients and caregivers. Going through this journey, both as a caregiver for my mom and as a patient, has opened my eyes to the gaps in Nigeria's healthcare system, especially concerning cancer care.

While I have an audacious goal to solve these issues in my lifetime, I also know that we need to deal with the current challenges women face during cancer treatment, particularly the costs.

In Nigeria, an overwhelming 97% of people lack health insurance, forcing families to pay for treatments out of pocket. Treating breast cancer alone costs between N2,000,000 to N10,000,000 (approximately €1250 to €6250), with costs rising due to inflation.

I have seen families fall apart, selling their belongings just to afford these treatments. I have also seen people give up because they have lost hope and cannot see a way they could ever afford these treatments. Some simply go home and wait to die.

Now, this is where you and I come in.
