This year I am hoping to raise funds for the Merrion Fertility Foundation by walking the VHI Women’s Mini Marathon.

While public funding for fertility treatment was announced, the criteria is extremely strict not covering donors, surrogates, certain pre existing medical problems etc. It is also not fit for purpose yet, while we applied I only received notification of my initial appointment for starting treatment under public funding when I had completed IVF, already a few months pregnant and paid thousands for treatment.

Not everyone has the luxury of having the finances to do fertility treatment and time to spare waiting for approval, this is where foundations like this come in. Please support, no matter how small it all counts and helps dreams come true!
