Hi, my name is Sarina Sanghera and I am currently a 3rd-year Medical Student. This summer I will be travelling to Ghana to volunteer with Global Medical Brigades, which is a non-profit charitable organisation of students and medical professionals working alongside local communities and staff to implement sustainable health systems. I will be working in remote, rural, and under-resourced communities in Ghana to provide medical aid and supplies to those who would otherwise have limited or no access to health care.
The money raised through fundraising will be used to help deliver direct medical care in these communities - such as paying for medications, equipment, local doctors, pharmacists, translators, and support staff. It will also be used towards supplying year-round health care for patients through sustainable means, such as providing clean water.
For the majority of the Brigade, I will be working with healthcare professionals during medical clinics, screening patients for chronic illnesses as well as helping physicians provide consultations and prescribe treatments for those diagnosed with a chronic illness. I will also be involved in teaching health education workshops and doing home visits for patients that are unable to attend the clinic.
Any donations towards this trip would be greatly appreciated, as they will be used to help fund medications, equipment and healthcare for individuals in Ghana. Thank you!
