Hi, I’m Lama Alzenati from Gaza. 22 years old. a fifth-year medical student at IUG. I was very close to achieving my dream of graduating from medical school and starting to practice medicine. But due to the war on Gaza and the continuous bombing that destroyed universities and hospitals, and killed my university professors, achieving this dream here in Gaza became impossible. But hope still exists with your help and donations. I will be able to continue my studies and save my future. I promise to work hard to achieve my dream and serve the people of my country.

 

my family suggested that I collect donations to cover the costs of traveling alone to continue my studies. But, I can't do that. I can't leave and abandon my family here in Gaza facing death and destruction alone. I can't leave them after all we've been through together because of this war‼️ 

My family consists of 6 members. We used to live a peaceful and comfortable life in our home filled with love and safety. All comforts were available to us. However, the war on Gaza turned our lives upside down, causing us all kinds of suffering. The most painful event was the destruction of our home due to Israeli occupation bombing. This event turned our lives into hell, and displacement became inevitable. We were forced to flee south to Rafah,where we faced a bitter reality in a place where even the basic necessities of life were not available.

This is my sister, Lana, who is 17, is nearing the end of her high school journey. She is supposed to be studying for her final exams now, but due to the war and the current conditions in Gaza, she will be unable to take the exams. Despite this, her heart holds strong hope, and she aspires to leave Gaza in search of new opportunities to continue her education and build a better future for herself.

My brothers Ahmed and Bashar. Two ambitious and hardworking young men, each with their own successful life. But the war shattered their dreams of completing their education. The war forced them to change their priorities from education and enjoying life to searching for the necessities of life for themselves and for us, and staying alive.

Our dream is to survive the war and continue to thrive in academia and progress in our education. Tragically, the destruction of universities and schools in Gaza has massively derailed our journey and our lives. We have lost a year of our education. I appeal to your conscience and humanity to save me and my family from certain death. We live every moment of our lives in terror, fear, and anticipation of an unknown fate.
