Continuing to keep us safe ❤️

**Update 1/10/2025

Mediation within the court is ongoing. Our most recent mediation was 12/23/2024, there I learned that my daughter's father quit his job and will be losing her insurance coverage. He also has stopped paying child support. (We are on month 2 as of this edit) This is unfortunately a pattern that he has done to the other mothers (there are 3 of us). Around this age of the child, he switches employment and ceases to pay support. I have given him all the information regarding our daughter's medical team so he can reach out to them and set up private insurance (per our court agreement) but instead he is calling the doctor's offices and saying there is a "custody dispute" and his "ex-wife" won't give him any information.

Why am I writing this all out? Well I'm stuck between a big rock and a very hard place. I am thankfully back to working (however had to take 2 weeks (unpaid) off during the holiday to care for our daughter) and the bills aren't stopping. Thankfully the amount I owed in arrearages to my lawyer was covered the first time around but not his baseline fee; and now that mediation has continued and her father is holding off on signing the mediated agreement plus no child support - I don't know what to do. I don't have many friends and my social life has been limited to online gaming because my one and only purpose is keeping my children and I safe. There is no "extra money" or "fun money" it is just basic necessities. I know there's a lot going on in the world today and I'm just one person trying to do whatever I can to make it for my family.

I can see why people in my position usually have to give up though and continue to receive the gaslighting abuse from these type of relationships. My daughter's father is in a position where he can continue to take me to court and drag this out, I am not. But as I told the mediator on court record, I will do whatever is necessary (and legal) to make sure that we are safe even if that means I fight til my last breath.

Hello, as some may know I left my daughter's father a little over 7yrs ago (May 25th 2017) due to abuse. Physical, mental, verbal, and emotional; not just against me but also my 2 other children and the daughter we share.

I've been back and forth with the court system to keep us all safe: confidential address, secure exchange location, and minimal contact. However, with that security in place, last July (2023) her father put a tracking device on our daughter to find our location. Unfortunately the courts would not prosecute even though he admitted to everything, so I retained a lawyer to help us maintain safety.

Which brings me to this "go fund me". Lawyers cost money - my lawyer has been great with working with me, however, I still owe $1800 from our last court go around (that's after retaining fees from the other party of $700). Now, I'm facing court again (via mediation ($250) in hopes to continue to secure my children and my safety. My lawyer is asking for $2000 before going to the mediator. I set the goal at $5000 to cover the current and past due, along with a small cushion in case the services surpass the retainer amount.

I can't do this myself... But my children and my safety is top priority and we are worth it.
