Jefferson Peñafiel is a 16 year old young man who is almost completely blind. In spite of this limitation he is one of the most polite and cheerful people you'll ever meet. Jefferson loves to swim and even though he's never had access to a swimming pool he has become a very strong swimmer by practicing in the river near his hometown of Cuellaje, Ecuador. He has been invited to an international competition for the visually impaired in Denver, CO in the U.S. in June. Unfortunately his family does not have the resources to pay for the trip. I know the people of Cotacachi and everyone else viewing this page are very generous with their time and money and there are many needs, but please consider making a donation that would help allow Jefferson to take advantage of this opportunity to see more of the world, make new friends, and represent his community in this event. I know Jefferson personally and he's a great kid, so I would hate for him to not be able to have this experience.  He only has a few short days to make his goal, so please make a donation today.
