On the 6th September, our gorgeous niece, 19 year old Ella, was diagnosed with a brain tumour. She was flown to RPA Hospital in Sydney where she underwent neuro surgery to remove the tumour.

Ella made an excellent recovery from surgery and after 2 weeks in Sydney, was able to return home to Parkes. However, Ella and her family were called back to Sydney as results confirmed that the tumour was a rare type of brain cancer.

After several appointments with oncologists and trips between Parkes and Sydney, Ella will be starting 6 weeks of initial radiation and chemotherapy at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse. She will then move to further chemotherapy treatment for up to 12 months.

As a number of people have been asking myself, Jemima and other family

members how they can help/contribute/donate to help with expenses, and ease the burden for the family, we have decided that this is the most practical platform to allow this. The donations will contribute to expenses such as ongoing travel, accommodation as the family (at least Ella and her parents - Adrian & Amy) live in Sydney for the next 6 weeks, treatment costs and other expenses that arise. Ella will be required to take a significant amount of time off from her relatively new job and studies and Adrian & Amy will also be required to take leave.
