The Hudson Valley Center For Veteran Reintegration is taking a little trip! We will hit the water June 12th.Depending on weather and water level we will either
Kayak from lake tear of the cloud( identifies as the source of the Hudson River) or back pack until we hit the first navigable waterway.
The trip will conclude in Manhattan with a visit to ground zero, total mileage is 315. We plan to cover 22 miles a day, this will Vary at certain stretches due to Hazards, weather, and geographic challenges.
The mission of this trip is twofold, first to bring awareness to the needs of our Veteran community showing alternative therapeutic programs help battle the fight against Veteran/active Duty suicide and mental health challenges. Second, to help HVCVR raise desperately needed funding to continue our programs by finding a permanent location that includes office space, class rooms and workshop areas. While we are extremely fortunate to have our current location, we have outgrown it and are unable to serve all that are seeking services from our organization.
We hope that many kayakers will join us on this adventure and help share our message of awareness! Imagine a flotilla of kayaks moving down the Hudson River for our Vets, The Hudson Valley, and HVCVR! It is time to show our country the MANY Assets our community has for Veterans!
