Hello, I am Lucy, Founder of Lucky Hedgehog Rescue in East Yorkshire. We know this is a huge ask, but our barn for temporary storage and volunteer space to wash up is collapsing! Our future plan for this is to provide a multifunctional room for education, wheelchair volunteers etc, and a veterinary room. Stage one is stabilising the building’s brickwork and giving it a new roof as the structure is riddled with woodworm and starting to cave in. The cheapest quote so far is £25000!!!

We always hope for #builders, #roofers, #SOS team, to step forward to assist us, but rarely is labour & materials donated to wildlife rescues on this scale. Please help us raise enough in stage 1, to stabilise the building and prep to move on to stage 2. Stage 2 will be lead lining a room section for an xray machine, oxygen machine & operating table for a wildlife vet to attend on site for all local wildlife rescues to have access to at a considerably reduced cost, and for encouraging nurse & vet wildlife training. Stage 3 will be providing a section to educate and for wheelchair users and others with disabilities to be able to meet, greet, and volunteer.

It all costs a considerable amount & expected to take a long time to raise funds. Stage 4 will be to lay #mudcontrol stabilisers in the adjoining paddock to provide safe parking & paths that will double up as wheelchair access. Huge project we know. With your help and your contacts we hope to raise the funds and/or the trades to volunteer.

If we do not raise enough over time, the donations will be put to good use on smaller projects here at the rescue, with a smaller veterinary operating unit on site in the fore.
