Veteran’s Family Loses Everything in Fire

My name is Kelly Middleton, and I’m an Army veteran. On the morning of May 25th, 2025, my family experienced something no one should ever have to go through. Our home was completely destroyed in a devastating fire.

We lost everything in a matter of minutes. Flames consumed the home we’ve built memories in for years. But God was watching over us . Every one of us made it out alive.

My son, who proudly serves in the U.S. Navy, risked his own life that morning . He climbed the side of our burning house with bare hands and unwavering courage to save his young nephew who was still trapped inside. He didn’t think twice. That’s the kind of man he is. Someone that is brave, selfless, and devoted to his family.

Though we’re blessed that no lives were lost, we are now left with nothing but the clothes on our backs. Everything we owned, family photos, important documents, clothes and furniture are gone.

As a proud veteran and father, I’ve always done my best to protect and provide for my family. But this is more than I can bear on my own. We need help to get back on our feet to find shelter, replace basic essentials, and start the long road to recovery.
