Veteran with PTSD, yearning to Smile again!!

As parents, we’re setting up this “Go Fund Me” page on behalf of our son, a U.S. Army Afghanistan War veteran in need of major dental work that includes jaw and facial bone reconstruction.

He’s a kind, good-natured soul whose longtime dream was to serve our country in the military, especially after 9-11. We were of course worried and prayed for his safe return from the middle east.

At the time, we didn’t have a clue about PTSD and the long-term impact on our American men and women who were lucky enough to return from the war. We’re now more than familiar with the challenges that our son and so many vets face in coping with and managing severe PTSD.

While the Veteran’s Administration has been very helpful in many ways, they won’t cover the costs of the comprehensive dental work that our son needs, which will cost upwards of $45,000.

This surgery would alleviate the excruciating pain he has endured for over a decade with teeth literally falling out of his mouth or breaking off in his food.

The dentist / oral surgeon who would be performing the procedures was kind enough to provide the below note. Our son’s name has been redacted for privacy and security, due to his role in the military.
