My name is Eric Serkosky. I’m a U.S. Army veteran and a father who has spent the last two years fighting for justice after my children were secretly taken overseas, and used as pawns in a drawn-out legal war I never asked for.

On July 31, 2024, my children were removed from the United States and taken to Germany without my knowledge, without my consent, and without notifying the court. I was not informed by their mother or her legal counsel. I only discovered what had happened after I had already won custody in U.S. family court, when I was suddenly served with legal papers from Germany.

In those papers, the other parent admitted to taking the children out of the country on July 31. Despite losing in U.S. court, she was now trying to have the German court re-rule on the U.S. decision, essentially asking them to overturn what the American judge had already decided in my favor. This was after the U.S. court found the allegations she made against me were not credible.

I proceeded with obtaining a German lawyer to fight in an international legal battle under the Hague Convention, on top of the emotional pain of realizing my children had been taken and hidden overseas during an active court case.

Why I’m Asking for Help

To pay off extensive international and domestic legal fees

To recover from years of false allegations and delayed justice

To build a safe, stable home for my children’s return

To protect my children’s privacy, I’m not using names or unblurred images. But I’ve included a photo of us together — their faces are blurred, yet the love is undeniable.

This photo was taken before any of this began. I’ve blurred their faces to protect them, but this is the family I’ve been fighting for — and always will.
