Vet Bills and Care for The Doctor Cat

UPDATE: The Doctor is recovering after his jaw wire procedure with Dr Alex Swope. He is in good spirits despite this ordeal. This is a long road of recovery but he clearly has a great team. Thank you everyone.

Meet The Doctor!

The Doctor is arguably the most famous Therapy Cat at the barn. The Doctor is an old man, very old actually. He came to the barn for retirement and found that his true calling was actually to be a therapist. (We think he started to take his name, The Doctor, very seriously.) Anyone who has visited Special Spirit has met this wonderful man and understands how special he is. Between begging the adults for food and showering the children with love, this cat is always busy. His cool and calm demeanor has helped so many people in so many ways.

Unfortunately, The Doctor now needs our help. He had a run in with El Coyote, and although he walked away it was not without consequence. The Doctor was graciously seen by another wonderful doctor, Dr Alex at Sweet Home Veterinary Clinic. He is there now getting the treatment needed to continue his work. His jaw will need to be wired to heal and will need a lot of care for the following weeks. His non-profit home, Special Spirit Inc, has covered the up front costs associated with this. We are looking to recoup the vet bills of $2000 and any additional funds will go towards his aftercare.

This cat is so special to so many people. He teaches us strength, resilience and unconditional love. We want to thank everyone for coming together and making sure his life is as good as it possibly can be.
