It's time to start thinking about Halloween in West Asheville! Permit fees have risen again and we are now required to hire 4 officers for the night. To keep this wonderful tradition for the thousands of kids each year, we need your help.
Your donations cover the permit/officers ($1310) and any additional funds are used to buy candy to distribute to houses that request a donation. It is very expensive for residents to buy candy for over 2000 trick or treaters!
If you are unfamiliar with the street closing of Vermont Ave., in West Asheville, Google it! You'll see hundreds of pictures of costumed families walking through the neighborhood, traffic free. The evening is made possible by volunteers setting up barricades and dutifully handling them while families, artists, and musicians enjoy a memorable Halloween evening.
Please consider helping. The community has created a great tradition which creates a safe and family-centered event, and thousands enjoy it each year.
