Verity's Gift 3 Peaks Challenge
Verity’s Gift was established to help young people attain first-class physical and mental well-being allowing them to flourish in life, especially those who have suffered.
In local primary schools, we fund counselling for young children trying to come to terms with harrowing events relating to abuse, anger, grief, cancer, eating disorders and self-hate. We have also provided funds to support a sensory corner in a primary school to help pupils calm down, refocus, and get back on track. In addition, the local Brownies have been provided sports equipment to enhance their sessions.
On a much larger scale, and with the support of our community and sponsors, we have helped create a fabulous new playground at Emsworth Recreational Ground to provide significant physical, social, and cognitive benefits that come from unstructured play. We hope to expand this to other facilities in the park.
We wish to continue and expand on this essential work and can only do this with support from others.
In early September, 20 volunteers will leave Emsworth on a 1300-mile round trip to undertake the immense task of the National Three Peaks Challenge in support of Verity’s Gift.
The Three Peaks Challenge is one of the most demanding trekking challenges in the UK and involves climbing the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon). It is not only physical endurance but one of mental determination too. As we rise to the peaks, there will be many laughs and a few tears, but it will be done knowing that the money we raise will support the young people of our community.
Please contribute, no matter how small, as every penny does count.
Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to benefit Verity's Gift, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
