Ventilators For Pakistan
Donation protected
Dr. Tariq and Dr. Akhtar are both physicians with a vision to make Pakistan’s healthcare system better. Both founding members have suffered the loss of loved ones due to inadequate critical care in Pakistan; hence, they started this pilot project “Ventilators for Pakistan” not just to help with the SARS-COV-2 pandemic but as a vision to help make Pakistan’s critical care medicine better.
Pakistan has one of the lowest per capita health expenditures in the world, along with the poorest life expectancy and such projects are the need of the day.
Vision/Aims:
We are starting off by buying ventilators, as that is the most pressing issue currently facing our health care system. However, we have the following aims in mind for the future:-
1- Facilitate and teach young doctors about the fundamentals of critical care medicine
2- Train nursing, respiratory therapists and support staff for critical care units
3- Find biomedical help for using and utilizing ICU equipment like ventilators.
