Hello! I am Daniela Seabra, founder of VEM – Mobility with Dignity, a Portuguese social startup born with a simple and urgent purpose:
to ensure that anyone with limited mobility can move safely, independently, and with dignity.
Why this project matters
Every day, thousands of people with visual impairments, reduced mobility, or temporary vulnerabilities face barriers to perform basic activities — going to a medical appointment, shopping for groceries, visiting a museum, or simply enjoying a walk.
VEM wants to change this. We are building a network of VEM Guides — trained young people — who will accompany users on their daily journeys, always arm-in-arm and with active empathy, ensuring not only mobility but also true social inclusion.
Why this is personal to us
We believe that mobility is a human right. We have seen firsthand the challenges of those who lack safe and dignified alternatives, and we are committed to creating an innovative, accessible solution for all.
How the funds will be used
Every donation will go directly into launching our Lisbon pilot this September:
-Training of the first VEM Guides (with accessibility specialists).
-Fair payment to the VEM Guides for their professional service.
-Insurance and support materials (vests, ID badges, safety kits).
-Development of the digital platform (to connect guides and users).
-Logistics and communication to raise awareness of the service.
Our goal
With your help, we will take the first step toward a future where no one is left behind due to lack of mobility.
How you can support
Donate — every contribution, big or small, makes a difference. We don’t want anyone to be left behind for financial reasons. Your support allows us to keep this service affordable and inclusive, so that everyone who needs it can have access.
Share this campaign with your network.
Join the VEM community and help us spread dignity, one step at a time.
Thank you so much for your support
