I was introduced to this woman through a friend who asked me to help her with meals. As I spent time with her and listened to her story, I came to understand the depth of the struggles she is facing. It is an honor for Anna Sudha Community Kitchen to stand by her and extend our support during this difficult time.
She came to this country on a spouse visa, full of hope and dreams for a new beginning. Sadly, instead of happiness, she encountered abuse and hardship. Despite her patience, communication, and countless compromises to save her marriage, her spouse chose to end it by dragging her into court on false grounds.
Now, she finds herself alone in a foreign land, fighting for justice. she relies on food pantries for her daily meals. What she truly needs at this moment is legal assistance so she can defend herself and prevent further injustice.
She is not asking for much—only the chance to be heard, to defend herself fairly, and to begin her life again with dignity. Together, as a community, we can make that possible. Every contribution, big or small, will go directly toward her legal fees and help her take the first steps in rebuilding her life.
All funds raised will be managed under the supervision of Anna Sudha Community Kitchen. The three members of our board will personally oversee their use to ensure that every dollar is spent responsibly and in the best way possible.
