From the 22nd-28th October, James and I will be walking the 184.5 miles from Chesterfield to London; the aim is to raise money for The Motor Neurone Disease Association. James and I have been friends since 2009 when we worked in the MET police on a Safer Neighbourhood Team in London. James (originally from Sheffield) moved back up north to Chesterfield from London.

One of our good friends Gavin, who also worked on the same team as us, has recently been diagnosed with motor neurone disease which is a degenerative disease; currently there is no known cure.

We are trying to fundraise £1000. The money raised will go directly to the Motor Neurone Disease Association to aid further research to help people like our friend Gavin. We will be wearing Motor Neurone Disease Association shirts and jumpers, to raise awareness of our cause on our walk.

Below is day-to-day a breakdown of our walk:-

Day 1 - Chesterfield – Trowell – 28.7 miles
Day 2 - Trowell – Leicester – 32.3 miles
Day 3 - Leicester – Watford – 33.8 miles
Day 4 - Watford – Bletchley Park – 34 miles
Day 5 – Bletchley – Amersham – 29.7 miles
Day 6 – Amersham – Sunbury (Gav’s house) – 26 miles

We realise that times are currently hard with the living cost crisis, so any donations however small will be greatly appreciated. Many thanks for your time reading this. Please see below the links to learn more about motor neurone disease.

Many thanks to you all!

James & Dean
