CALA runs for immigrant justice!!
Tax deductible
After a several year pandemic related lapse of running, "Run for CALA" is back!!! On February 25, 2024, CALA is taking the NYC Runs Central Park Half Marathon & 5k.
We are asking you to consider supporting CALA's work for our immigrant community. Since 1985, CALA has provided free or low-cost legal services to New York's immigrant community. Our mission is to protect and defend Central American asylum seekers, and to expand the civil rights of all immigrants. Based in a Brooklyn church, CALA offers newly arrived immigrants a home base for advice or counseling as well as legal representation. Some of our incredible clients are pictured above.
In 2023, CALA:
- won asylum for over 150 immigrants from Central America, Colombia, and Venezuela;
- filed over 1000 TPS applications;
- and assisted over 600 community members with applications and other court filings.
We assure you that anything at all you can give helps to ensure the longevity of our work. Even sharing this page makes a difference.
We appreciate your solidarity and wish you peace!
