Two weeks ago, we spent a busy time with you in Fond des Blancs, your home village.
We left Port au Prince on a Friday afternoon with your pick-up full of heavy construction material.
You used it to repair a footbridge, to mend the access, to finish a new guest room, to build a cement sidewalk in front of the school, protecting it from the mud, and so on ...
We noticed that your mind is always working, thinking how to improve the effectiveness and the cost of your many projects for better living conditions of your community. All the time you went from one place to the other: on the construction sites, to the library to give your instructions to the teenagers who were putting the many books on the right shelves, to the corn mill distributing clothes and sweets to the farmers, to the farms collecting seeds and plants for the next crops.
On the top of all of this you show a lot of patience listening with compassion to everybody's problems.
We went with you to distribute big quantities of water bags to the shops, so that they can sell them at a reasonable price to the people, encouraging them to use drinkable water.
You showed us the school, the shop, the restaurant, the bakery …. parts of your projects which generate income for the community.
A couple of days later, we went back to Port au Prince with your pick-up full of equipment to be repaired, of fruit and vegetables for the orphanage, of people who needed a lift free of charge … and we drove a couple of hours partly on a bumpy trail full of big holes. And on Monday you were back at work!
We could not see all your projects, but we are able to say with certainty: you work hard and with devotion towards the beneficiaries. You are the right man in the right place and we admire your huge and tireless involvement.
Therefore, our NGO, PARTENAIRES, is very much willing to make your work easier, giving you a proper tool, i.e. to co-finance the lorry (dump Truck) you need: MACK Econodail Type Bascule 2 Levier 5 de Couleur Blanc dump truck. It is a second hand vehicle, in a very good shape.
Every weekend you'll travel from Port au Prince to Fond des Blancs quicker, safer and more comfortably - on the top of it you won't need any more to load and unload the heavy material.
It costs 24,000.00 $, we can give you 10 000 $ if you find the rest of the amount. Can you rely on the support of your friends for the 14,000.00 $ that is needed to buy the dump truck?
