Varinawa Tribe

Hello everyone, if you or anyone you know has benefited from the amazonian tea, known as ayahuasca, please consider donating to this fundraiser.

We are collecting contributions on behalf of the Varinawa people, located in the Amazon region of Acre, Brazil.

We are raising funds to help this community build a traditional, basic structure to cook indigenous medicines, mainly 'Uni', commonly known as ayahuasca. Currently, they do not have a proper place to cook their sacred medicines. Because many of us have met them personally and traveled to their village, we would like to offer this as a gesture of generosity, reciprocity, and gratitude.

This structure is referred to as a "feitio" house or "cooking" house. Its sole purpose is the preparation of sacred plant medicines for healing. This is one of the essential parts of their cultural tradition. They desperately need a proper place to clean, prepare, and cook these sacred medicines. They need a site free of animals and pests and secure from the elements to ensure their cooking process goes as smoothly as possible.

This community is particularly renowned for their work with the Kambo Frog Medicine and we were very blessed to visit them, learn about the Kambo from one of the pajè's (healer of the tribe), and participate in their healing ceremonies this past January 2022. We have a close connection with this particular village, as does our teacher Davi De Paula who introduced us to this community.
