Ready and rearing to provide volunteer medical assistance to those in need!
To all you amazing folks with big hearts, I already thank you for checking out this link and being curious about what is upcoming in my life:)
Here's the scoop!
I am on my way to Panama for two reasons. Originally it was to enjoy a beautiful place with some beautiful girlfriends. But as I thought on it further, I felt it was a perfect time to continue my stay, and offer my services and skills as an RN with 11 years experience, to a medical clinic dedicated to providing community development and medical care to an underserved population.
Luckily I discovered Floating Doctors !
“If the patients cannot come to the clinic, our clinic must go to the patients.” — Dr. Ben
Not unlike most not-for-profit organizations that provide resources, education, and medical assistance, the core of their foundation is reliant upon donations. This includes requesting that all volunteers, such as myself, pay a weekly expense to work and live on-site at the clinic(s). For my two week donation of time, I will give an offering of $1,400 to cover my fees as a volunteer, and anything extra goes to their mission, maintenance, medical supplies, etc. This sum does NOT include airfare or domestic transportation. Nor does it include any further travels in or around the country. That's all covered by me. This money goes to Floating Doctors 100%!
With your help, I can provide them 40 hours/week of my medical service as well as donate to keep their organization going strong!
I understand that there are endless opportunities for you to make donations these days. So many valiant efforts to assist in so many ways. Thus, I am not requesting giants sums! Every little contribution matters. Trust me! Even 5 bucks will make a difference for this medical clinic, their mission, and my participation in those efforts.
I appreciate you! Thank you for everything you do to support me and my endeavors! I hope this is the first medical trip of many to come!
I will be accepting donations to help support the efforts of Floating Doctors until May 8th - 2019!
PS- as many of you know I LOVE sending and receiving snail mail. Let me know if you would like a postcard from my travels and I will be sure to get your address!
