Vandalism Repairs to Cardross Primary ELC Garden
Donation protected
Unfortunately in August of last year, vandals entered the grounds and vandalised the Early Learning Centre Garden. The damage is beyond repair and the cost to replace the damaged items are in excess of £1000. This is unfortunately not covered under the schools budget, nor their insurance policy. Items such as these are vital to the learning and development of the youngest in our society and as such we are reaching out to the community to help with these repair costs.
The damage itself was to items used by our 3-5yr olds which is extremely disheartening, however thankfully the new CCTV system installed last year caught them in the act and was footage was shared with police. We must work as a community to ensure further acts of vandalism do not occur, this is not the first time vandalism has taken place and we must spread the message of a zero-tolerance policy towards this kind of behaviour. Moving forward, both the CPSA and the school will continue report anyone who trespasses or damages school property, to the police.
The CPSA has been working hard to raise funds to improve our school’s facilities, but each act of vandalism impacts our ability to make progress. While our current focus is on our biggest fundraising of the year, the Cardross Gala Day, we appreciate that some people may not be able to take part in that event but may still wish to help towards the costs of vandalism repairs so we’ve also set up a dedicated GoFundMe page. Every contribution will make a difference, and we’re grateful for any support.
Thank you,
