Van needed for shelter, stability and hope

Donation protected
About 6–8 months ago, our family met a man here in Arlington who was working two jobs and walking to and from work every single day… rain, sleet, or snow… just trying to build a better life for himself.

As we got to know him, we learned he was homeless. He found shelter where he could and even slept on a friend’s couch for a short time.

Around Christmas, I asked for donations to help get him some everyday essentials… towels, a jacket, warm clothes, socks, gloves, and a few other basics. And just like you always do… you showed up. ❤️
Your generosity lifted his spirits and helped him keep moving forward.

Fast forward to this past Sunday… he reached out because he had nowhere left to go. He could no longer couch surf.

We truly feel like God placed him in our path to help… so that’s what we did. Right now he has temporary shelter through Saturday, but we can’t continue covering that long term.

In the middle of trying to find a solution, I was connected with Gary Murphy, who runs a car ministry. He has a van that would be perfect for our friend.

The van needs some work, but the amazing part is the labor is being donated… we only need to cover the parts to make it safe. The estimated cost is just under $2,000.

The van is missing the middle seats and the back seats fold down flat, which means he could put a mattress in it and finally have something he hasn’t had in a long time… stability, transportation, and a safe place to sleep with heat.

A vehicle would be life-changing.
It opens the door to more employment opportunities and helps him take real steps toward his goal of re-entering the military.

I’ve never created a GoFundMe before, but I’m asking you to prayerfully consider donating… whether personally or as a tax write-off through your business.

Every dollar moves him one step closer to independence.

If you can’t give, sharing this means just as much. Thank you for always showing up and loving people well. ❤️
