Para quem o conhece dispensa apresentações, para quem não, aqui escrevo um pouco acerca da sua história.

O Manuel Roda mais conhecido por MGR sofreu na passada semana nas suas terras e propriedades um fogo avassalador de uma magnitude nunca antes registada. Terras estas longínquas da povoação que sao cultivadas à centenas de anos por todos e ninguem tem registo de uma calamidade destas.

Neste cantinho da serra, na "Ribeira" o Manuel investiu 30 anos de muito suor, dinheiro, amor e ideias para projetar um futuro para si, desde colmeias e apiários, caminhos de acesso, reparacão de casas que serviam de apoio a agricultura, hortas, sistemas de rega, plantou pinheiros, castanheiros, nogueiras, oliveiras, medronheiros, entre outras...

Chegou a um ponto em que se sentia em casa, isolado do Mundo!

Hoje O MGR PERDEU TUDO!

Todos os sazonais que contava anualmente para subsistir estão em risco ou ja foram considerados impraticáveis este ano e talvez nos proximos, tais como castanhas, nozes, mel, azeite ou ate mesmo arvores adultas que valiam como madeira!

O MGR recebe uma reforma minima e tem algumas limitações fisicas à muitos anos.

TODA a nossa ajuda vai dar força ao MGR para continuar ou recomeçar de novo desde:

- As reparações das casas que arderam

- Possibilidade de voltar a plantar arvores de fruto e pinheiros

- compra e investimento em novos apiarios e abelhas

- A sua própria subsistência

I created this page to help my uncle that lost alot in the last fires, any support or share is welcome!

Manuel Roda most knowned as MGR suffered in the last mounth in his lands a huge fire that there is no memory of.... His lands are far away from the village and for centuries that are farmed and cultivated by the old ones and no one have memory of something with this magnitude.

In this "corner" on the mountains, in "Ribeira" he invested 30 years of effort and dedication, sweat, money, love and in the end a project for his future and subsistence from apiarys, hives and bees, to vegetable gardens, irrigation systems, he planted fruit trees like chestnuts, nuts, olive trees, strawberry trees, fig trees and pines.

He also invested alot in cleaning the roads and acesses and also on the rebuilt of houses that until back then were just used to support agriculture and storage.

He turned all this in to a place he loved to call and feel like home!

Ribeira its his home!

Today MGR lost everything.

All the seasonal pickings and harvestings that he counted annualy are now in danger and many of them are already considered lost this year and probably in the next ones like the chestnuts, nuts, olive oil, honey or even wood to sell.

MGR receives from the state a minimal pension, he is getting old and besides that he has some physical limitations so its difficult just to move on somewhere else.

ALL OUR HELP is giving support and strenght to MGR continues or restart his life project from:

-repairs on the houses that burned

-buying apiarys, hives and bees

-the chance to plant again more fruit trees and pines

-like to his own subsistence

ALONE, STARTING AGAIN WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE TO HIM! HE NEEDS OUR HELP!
