Fair Chance is a proud partner of the Coleman Family!
We are proud to announce The Valerie Coleman Nonprofit Fellowship Fund, which will provide annual support for nonprofits to participate in Fair Chance's transformational capacity-building program. The Fair Chance approach is designed to strengthen nonprofit organizations, create strategies for growth, and achieve better outcomes for children and families.
Valerie Coleman Nonprofit Fellows will receive customized, one-on-one support from Fair Chance at no cost to their organizations. By building the capacity of these organizations, we will create thriving nonprofits that will continue to be vital resources for children and families in our community.
Valerie Coleman was a native Washingtonian and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and neighbor, whose greatest love and passion in life was children. Valerie passed away in 2023 after a tough battle with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. She had six children of her own, 17 grandchildren, and helped many other children by opening her heart and home to those kids most in need.
Valerie gave back in ways both big and small throughout her life and was especially passionate about Fair Chance given its focus on improving the lives of kids who need it most.
